“As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. Come, follow me, Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’ At once, they left their nets and followed him. “
Mark 1:16-18
Here are some of the highlights and the ways we connect with each other and serve our community.
Community is where we find and create connections with others in a variety of ways. We are a congregation that reflects and embraces people from every family, language, race, and nation. We honor the dignity of each person, respect the diversity of experiences and perspectives in the community, and intentionally learn and grow from our shared experiences.
Walking into a new church can be overwhelming and bewildering sometimes, but we aim to make you feel welcome, seen, and heard. If you have any questions, just ask. We love to meet new members of the community.
St. Andrew’s is a busy parish with something for everyone. Whether you’re flying solo or a family that will fill a pew, we offer a diverse array of opportunities to find community. Join one of our faith or current event based discussion groups, grab a cup of coffee with us at the end of service, get out on the town with parish members, engage in youth group, or sign up for our dinner group.
Outreach to those in need in our local community and abroad is baked into the DNA at St. Andrew’s. Our community outreach efforts are a way to extend the church’s mission to people in need, promote social and climate justice, and foster meaningful and positive change. If you’re interested in volunteering to give back, we have many small and large ways to get involved.
