New American Food Project—now ended

This project officially ended in May 2022. Thanks to Dulany Alexander for her hard work organizing and implementing it for two years.

During the global pandemic in 2020, we began providing food to more than fifty families who are clients of the New American Center in Lynn, which provides culturally appropriate and linguistically accessible social service assistance to refugees and immigrants in the Lynn area.

Every Thursday, we received food in bulk, which we then divided up into family-sized bags. The food came not only from our parish’s donations but from various agencies, including the Food Project and the Greater Boston Food Bank/My Brothers Table. After we sorted the food, others of us picked up and delivered food to families, mostly in Lynn.

Thanks to several grants and parishioner donations, the project was well funded.
